Tiger Teacher Nation Regional Professional Learning Day: January 20, 2020

The old saying “practice makes perfect” is all well and good but Robin Fogarty tells us in the book Unlocking Student Talent that “deliberate practice makes perfect”. She shares that “Noted researcher on the science of expertise, K. Anders Ericsson hails deliberate practice as ‘the most powerful approach to learning that has yet been discovered.’” Wow! What if we could harness the power of deliberate practice in our classrooms to increase student achievement? Learn to do just that in this session on Games and Review Tools! Participants will explore the Mentimeter, Quizizz, Quizlet, and Gimkit and how these tools can be used to provide opportunities for deliberate practice. (FLEX sessions are self-paced and personalized to meet the needs of each participant. Stations on a variety of topics will be available. Participants can move between stations to fit their own professional learning needs. Please bring your own device and a pair of headphones/earbuds to fully participate.
