This session will provide elementary teachers with effective strategies and materials for integrating music and reading instruction. Participants will be actively engaged in music activities that utilize poetry, short stories, picture books, and novels for young readers. Descriptions of lesson activities, guidelines for lesson planning based upon content standards, a bibliography of selected children's literature, and a list of musical selections will be presented.
